Infosys Mysore

When I first entered the Infosys Mysore campus, I was still a college student. I had come to Mysore campus for my internship. Until then I was a college student, who was used to a typical lifestyle of a hostellite. The luxury of Laundromats, room service, hygienic food, state of the art learning facility and much more was something never heard of. The Mysore campus came as quite a surprise for all of us. From the moment I entered the campus until this date I can’t stop talking about it. The place is definition of beauty, aesthetics, modernization, discipline and wonder.

To write the entire Mysore training story will take pages, and I will still be left with so much to tell. In this post I will simply make note of what I loved when I lived there. I must really appreciate the efforts of Infosys founders and all those who were involved in building this monumental campus. The campus has given a reason for thousands to appreciate something and dream big in their life. It has generated valuable jobs for the people of Mysore.

Roman architecture

The campus is an architectural masterpiece. Every building is part of a design, and just doesn’t stand there. The colossal GECII inspired by Roman architecture, the origami building, The Multiplex are nothing less than a work of art. The campus has 8 food courts, each food court is unique, lovely and grand. They even have beautiful names. An aerial view of the campus will show the name Infosys where hostels are located. The hostels are located in such a fashion so as to create the name Infosys. There is greenery everywhere, nothing is out of place. One can even spot several birds in the campus.

One thing that I loved most than any other was my room. The huge window, an awesome sofa and a cup of coffee was an irresistible combination. There was more than sufficient furniture. I still miss the cozy bed, the Raymond blanket and silky smooth bed spread. Had an LCD TV all for myself which was quite frankly all I could have asked for. The bathroom was equally beautiful and provided hot water in the morning. :)The best part was we could order a pizza using the intercom and be as lazy as we would want. My room even had a wooden flooring; That was just way to rich.

One gets friends of a life time at Mysore campus. Mysore days are days of celebration and celebration is incomplete without friends. Everyone enjoys and suffers the same condition at the campus and that makes friendship all the more powerful. The strict rules of the campus calls up for many adventures which would be impossible without help from your close friends. The adventures are a plenty and would take a whole new blog post. All days at the campus are full of fun, humor, adventure, satire, wonderful crushes and much more.

I knew how to swim, but I still wouldn’t call myself a swimmer. Here I learnt proper strokes with help of a trainer. In the end could swim 25mts underwater, and later at one occasion even swam 2000mts in a single go. The extra-curricular activities in the campus is the biggest attraction. There is in-house bowling alley, Bouldering Wall, basketball, volleyball, badminton court, Football ground surrounded by synthetic jogging track. Cricket ground, pool, carrom, lawn tennis, squash, table tennis, a gym facility, yoga room and many more. It’s kind of you name it and we have it. More so everything is state of the art facility.

Multiplex

The entire facility is called ECC – Employee Care Center. There is a multiplex inside the campus which plays all the latest movies. Then there is a small retail store called Loyal World which caters to most of the shopping needs of the residents. There is everything one can ask for, and some more. It was left with every individual how to make judicious use of all these facilities. If one wishes to learn what quality is? Then the person should come to this place. Be it lawn-mowing at cricket ground, or the quality of plumbing used at various places, quality is not compromised for any reason. The house keeping staff literally washes the streets to keep it clean and beautiful.

The campus is meant to be house for thousands of people who will come and go. So it is of utmost importance to provide such a facility which will last for very long. The house keeping takes the motto “prevention is better than cure” very seriously. Every room, every corner, every door is meticulously cleaned day in day out. So as to avoid any unforeseeable complication.

All glamor and glitz apart the campus is a place for exceptional world class training facility. The class rooms are simply amazing. The quality of trainers and the training material is equally amazing. If I were to really make a statement, I would say, all the coding that I can do today. I learnt it here. Thanks to all my friends for their great support when I was as dumb as anyone could be. I couldn’t even write a basic SQL query in the beginning, but the training process and a little hard work paid off. Mysore days were truly the best days of my life and will cherish them forever. Thanks to all my batch mates, you guys made it special.
